ICE Biosciences has well equipped platforms for research with a special focus on Cardiac safety and CNS.


1. Ion Channel and Cardiac Safety Platform

Ion channels are involved in different physiological processes and their malfunction leads to various human diseases. Drugs that modulate ion channels account for the second largest group in the pharmaceutical. Various methods are used to study ion channels including ligand-binding, flux-based and fluorescence-based assays, but the best technology to study ion channel function and screen for compound interaction is the patch clamp technique. This technique is FDA-mandated in hERG (human ether-a-go-go-related gene) safety testing.

We provide high-quality patch clamp analysis for non-clinical cardiac safety assessment according to the recommendations of the Comprehensive in vitro Proarrhythmia (CiPA)initiative, a new strategy proposed by the FDA and other expert working groups such as the Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI) and Cardiac Safety Research Consortium (CSRC). We also perform pharmacology screening of ion channel modulators.

More than 80 Ion Channel and Transporter Cell Lines - Voltage-gated potassium channels, Calcium-activated potassium channels, Inward-rectifier potassium channels, Two-pore domain potassium channels- Sodium channels- Calcium channels, TRP channels- Acid-sensitive ion channels, Chloride channels.

Hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated ion channels- GABA, NMDA, Ach, 5-HT
